We are thrilled to congratulate our very own Master Jun for winning the GOLD Medal in the 2024 USA Taekwondo Team Trials (Ultra Flyweight Division) and proudly earning a spot as a member of the 2024 US National Team!
Master Jun, once the Team Captain of the Philippine Demonstration Team and Philippine National Team Member from 1999-2000, has now achieved a new milestone as a US citizen by securing a spot on the USA Taekwondo National Team. “Becoming a National Team Member of two countries in my lifetime was one of my long-time goals,” says Master Jun Quitain.

Special thanks to Master Francis Esposo of Han’s Taekwondo Academy of Bakersfield, California, for coaching Master Jun into victory!

“It was wonderful to see my TBB brothers (Taekwondo Blackbelt Brotherhood) @AngelitoOng and @Edison of ONG Taekwondo Academy USA, @JeffGo of Sparks Taekwondo, and Bobby Vargas of Quest Taekwondo again. We all trained together and grew up in the sport in Philippines several decades ago.”

A bit of background: both Master Ong and Master Jun trained together in the Philippines as Black Belts and are members of the taekwondo fraternity, TBB. They were Philippine National Team Members in 1999 and 2000, competed together in the Korea Open under the Philippine flag, and now, both are US National Team Champions competing under the US flag! It’s been quite a journey for these two lifelong athletes and friends!
Congratulations!!
