We are incredibly proud to celebrate Christopher Buescher, our dedicated junior instructor volunteer at CALSMA Taekwondo! Christopher, who started practicing Taekwondo at the tender age of 3, is now graduating from 8th grade with outstanding achievements.
Just yesterday, on May 15, 2024, Christopher received multiple prestigious awards:
- Yearbook Award
- Top Student in Design and Modeling Class
- Top Student in Mathematics Class
- Distinguished Presidential Award (for maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout middle school – 6th, 7th and 8th grade)
In addition to his academic excellence, Christopher holds a 2nd Dan Black Belt with the California School of Martial Arts (CALSMA Taekwondo) and will be testing for his 3rd Dan Black Belt this year. He has also qualified to compete in the USA Taekwondo National Championship this year! This summer, Christopher will be joining the CALSMA Sparring Team, further showcasing his dedication and skill in Taekwondo.
Chris has earned the following medals and victories:
- Gold Medalist: 2024 AAU State Champion (Sparring)
- Bronze Medalist: 2024 USA Taekwondo CA State Championship (Sparring)
- Gold Medalist: 2023 USA Dream Open (Sparring)
- Gold Medal (exhibition): 2024 USA Taekwondo CA State Championship (Sparring)
- Gold Medalist: 2019 USA Dream Open (Poomsae)
- Bronze Medalist: 2019 USA Taekwondo CA State Championship (Poomsae)
- Bronze Medalist: 2018 USA Taekwondo CA State Championship (Poomsae)
- Silver Medalist: 2018 USA Taekwondo CA State Championship (Sparring)
- Gold Medalist: 2017 USA Taekwondo CA State Championship (Sparring)
- Silver Medalist: 2016 USA Taekwondo CA State Championship (Sparring)

Christopher’s day doesn’t end with school. After a full day from 8:40 AM to 3:30 PM, he quickly refuels at home before dedicating his time to teaching kids at CALSMA Taekwondo from 4 PM to 7 PM. Following this, he attends and trains in his own Taekwondo class from 7 PM to 8 PM.
His commitment extends beyond teaching. Christopher is an active competitor, participating in local, state, and national competitions, and is a medalist in many tournaments. He is also a valued member of our Demonstration Team, embodying mentorship, leadership, and service.
