Journey to Black Belt Meeting with Master Jun
Before testing for a Black Belt/Dan, a meeting with Master Jun is required. We will be holding a Journey to Black Belt Meeting to outline the process and expectations for our students aspiring to achieve their black belt/ Dan. The student must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We will email you of the available dates and times.
Kukkiwon Application Form
Completing the Kukkiwon application form is now a requirement by USAT. Please fill out the form using the following link: Kukkiwon Application Form. You can leave the bottom half blank. There is no need to attach a photo, we will take the photo for you.
LEADERSHIP Hours
Ensure that you complete all required leadership hours prior to the test day. Detailed information and leadership log in forms can be found in the curriculum: Curriculum.

Photos and Videos for Journey to Black Belt Video
As a special tribute to our students earning their Dan ranks, Master Jun strives to create personalized Black Belt videos whenever time allows. These videos are a complimentary gesture that goes beyond what is included in Black Belt testing fees, serving as a heartfelt celebration of each student’s journey. While optional, they are a meaningful way to honor their dedication and achievements within our taekwondo community.
If a video cannot be made, a dedicated site will be published to showcase the student’s Black Belt essay, ensuring their hard work is recognized.
To help us create these videos, we kindly request at least 20 photos and 20 videos capturing the student’s journey from White Belt to their current level. If possible, please include at least one family photo and photos with friends. Submissions are due least one week before the belt test to allow ample time for production.
We will provide you a link on a separate email to upload the videos and photos you’d like for us to use.
Special Training CLASSES
As you prepare for this achievement, we are offering a special training series designed to support your readiness and confidence for the upcoming belt test. This optional training program takes place approximately 4–6 weeks prior to the Black Belt DAN testing date. While attendance at every session is not required, the full package includes access to all scheduled classes during this period for one flat rate.
This training is an excellent opportunity to:
- Sharpen your techniques and forms
- Receive focused guidance and feedback
- Practice test-day scenarios
- Build endurance, confidence, and mental preparedness
Whether you’re refining your performance or seeking extra support before testing day, this training is here to help ensure you’re fully prepared for your black belt test day.
